Hope was a kind, sweet, loving, outgoing child who was a joy and a blessing to be near. She had been active in vocal and instrumental performance as well as theater productions at school and in our community and had competed in swimming, running and horseback riding. Most importantly, Hope is the only sister to her big brother J.D. and will always be a wonderful daughter to her parents.
Hope was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma one month after her twelfth birthday. In a single moment life as she knew it was forever changed. Hope went from running track, swimming, singing and acting, playing her Bari Sax and hanging out with friends and family to spending the next 224 days fighting for her life. After a short but courageous battle, Hope earned her wings in the early hours of March 10, 2010.
